This summer saw a significant improvement in GCSE results across the school along with the A Level results which have continued in the long tradition of fantastic results.

 

The school saw a significant improvement in GCSE results compared to the previous year. Fifteen departments saw an improvement in their GCSE results with some having significant gains. In Computing, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, RE and Photography over 90 % of students achieved a GCSE pass at grade 4 (equivalent to a grade C), whilst in Art and Technology over 80% of students achieved a grade 4. In English 72% of students achieved a grade 4 and 60% of students achieved this in Mathematics.

 

Overall there were forty four grade 9s achieved, ten in Mathematics and eleven in English, and one student who achieved an amazing nine grade 9s.  This puts students who achieved this in the top 4% in the country.

The Progress 8 scores will be published by the DfE in January, this will also show a significant improvement for the 2018 GCSE cohort.
