The Scheme of Assessment has a modular structure. At the end of Year 10, Students will be able to sit an examination paper which covers the work from the first year of the course. 

ASSESSMENT

UNIT 1 - 35% of the total AS marks
Written Unit, 1 hour - 60 marks

This unit comprises three stimulus response questions, one from each area.  The unit assesses Module 1 of the AS subject content.

UNIT 2
- 35% of the total AS marks

Written unit, 60 marks


AS LEVEL: GEOGRAPHY MODULES
- AQA (2030)

MODULE 1- Core Concepts in Physical and Human Geography

  • Rivers, Floods and Management
  • Coastal Environment
  • Population Change
  • Energy Issues

MODULE 2- Geographical Skills

Candidates are required to develop geographical skills:

  • Cartographical (map skills)
  • Graphical
  • Spatial
  • Statistical
  • Fieldwork
  • Limitations of the above
