Music

The music department undertakes to provide all students, regardless of race, gender, ethnic origin or academic ability with an experience of a variety of musical styles and cultures which will enable them to develop an understanding appreciation and enjoyment of music. This includes understanding music as a major cultural feature and will also incorporate the reinforcement of the key skills, literacy and numeracy as well as teamwork and cooperation through music making. Every pupil will have the opportunity to listen to, perform and compose in many different styles of music.

The Music Department provide many opportunities for pupils to display their musical talents. We hold several music concerts throughout the year. The department have many extra curricular activities available which range from orchestra, jazz band, woodwind group to choir, senior vocal band, brass band and string group.

We also make use of Rivi Studios, our very own TV and Radio Station to record music and to develop performance pieces.
