Qualifications Studied at POWERWAVE
POWERWAVE delivers a personalised and tailored curriculum of recognised qualifications to meet the individual needs of its learners who progress through a range of qualifications and . This includes:
City & Guilds Level 1 in Basic Construction Skills
This qualification meets the needs of candidates who work or want to work in various trades of the construction sector. It allows candidates to learn, develop and practise the skills required for employment and/or career progression in the Construction Sector.
To achieve the Level 1 Certificate in Basic Construction Skills learners must:
- Achieve 13 credits
- Complete optional units across a range of carpentry, joinery, brickwork, plastering, painting and decorating.
The different options/pathways within this qualification each provide an introduction to particular craft skills in construction.
BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Construction
The qualifications provide much of the underpinning knowledge required for the construction industry. The specification is structured to allow learners maximum flexibility in selecting specialist optional units, so that particular interests and career aspirations within construction, and intentions for progression, can be reflected in the choice of unit combinations.
Learners will:
- Develop useful basic craft skills
- Develop construction specific knowledge
- Complete optional unit combinations in Health & Safety, Joinery and Carpentry, Brickwork and Blockwork, Plastering and Painting and Decorating.
Construction Skills Certification Scheme
CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof of occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients. We offer students an opportunity to gain this if they are successful in their studies.
