Social Studies Department

The Social Studies department includes Child Development and Health and Social Care. These subjects involve looking at: growth and development at all life stages; factors affecting development; how we interact with others; the impact of relationships on individuals; how we work together; the needs of different groups and how they are met and so on. If you enjoy looking at how we develop our personalities and how we are affected by the care we are given you will enjoy these courses. The courses that we offer are suitable for those that wish to pursue a career in the following areas: Nursing; Midwifery; Social Work; Counselling; Teaching; Rehabilitation etc.
