The History Curriculum - An overview
We aim to deliver a diverse, colourful and dynamic curriculum, reflecting our love of the past. We try to challenge and excite pupils with a range of topics they may not have encountered before, like ancient history and Black history.
That’s why we deliver Schools History Project (Edexcel Syllabus C) at G.C.S.E and modern British and Russian history (AQA Alternatives U and F) at A’ level. Once students start learning these new topics, they can really fly with them!
At Key Stage 3, all pupils learn History for two lessons out of a 30 hour teaching week. At G.C.S.E this is increased the three hours a week and pupils are taught for 5 hours a week in the Sixth Form.
