Mrs Bourne has taught at the school for sixteen years and is Head of Year Eight.  She teaches History at all levels as well as R.A.V.E. and PSHCE at Key Stage 3.  Mrs Bourne enjoys travel, especially visiting museums and art galleries, in her spare time.

Katie Donnellan

Miss Donnellan joined the department two years ago from The King John School in Essex.  She specializes in Twentieth Century British history but teaches across the age range, including A Level.  Miss Donnellan enjoys reading and local politics in her spare time.

Miss Dyer has taught at Rivington for seven years.  She teaches History, along with R.A.V.E. and PSHCE at Key Stage 3.  In her spare time, Miss Dyer enjoys travel and has recently visited India and Australia.

Rebecca Grantham BA Hons

Mrs Grantham first joined Rivington and Blackrod High School as a pupil but has now been teaching here for five years.  She is Head of the History Department, and is passionate about developing students’ skills as independent learners.  She also leads community learning in the school.  In her spare time, she enjoys live music.

Mr McNamara joined the History Department this year, based at our Year 7 site at Albert Street.  There, he also teaches geography and R.A.V.E. and focuses on developing pupils’ learning skills, so they really love his Humanities lessons.  In his spare time, he runs the Year 7 football team.

Pamela Warren

Miss Warren is Head of PSHCE at Rivington, but she also enjoys teaching History at Key Stage 3 and G.C.S.E.   Her specialism is Ancient History and she encourages pupils to develop their interest in Archaeology through the History Club.  Miss Warren is in the process of updating a house, which takes up much of her spare time.
