Physical Education Department
The Physical Education department consists of thirteen staff. The priorities in the department are to deliver a broad balanced National Curriculum in all Key Stages with allows pupils to develop to their full potential. Inclusion is the key factor which motivates and engages young people. Therefore a programme of learning has been constructed to reflect this. Activities in Key Stage 3 reflect National Curriculum requirements and children can achieve not only in performance by in the role of leader, coach and organiser. In Key Stage 4 complementary activities include Outdoor Education, Self Defence, Street Dance, Sports Leaders Awards and Duke of Edinburgh.
In addition an exclusive extra curricular programme is offered to all and from here young people have the opportunity to access county level and beyond. Examinations are offered at Key Stage 4 in Physical Education and/or Dance and at AS, A2 and BTEC sports and Exercise Science Course.
The department is highly successful in all areas and is totally committed to the development of young people through the medium of sport and physical education.
