Sporting successes in Year 8

Monday, 19th December 2022

We are always pleased to hear about our students who have had their own personal successes outside of school, and this term, we are celebrating two individuals in Year 8.

Lucas M was invited to compete in the Men's Gymnastics Grades National Finals in Birmingham earlier this month, where he competed against over 40 others in the age 12 to 13 category and delivered a fantastic routine. Lucas said, "I had a really fun experience competing and came third overall for the team medal, which I am really proud of!"

We know there is more to come from him in his future endeavours and competitions within gymnastics, and we look forward to hearing about them.

Another student, Abbie S, competed in the Trampoline League Finals in London at the Olympic venue - Lee Valley Velopark. She was also recognised by the Rotary Club of Horwich, who provided her with a youth achievement award. She said, "I really enjoyed the experience of competing at an Olympic stadium and the whole weekend was a lovely experience in London. I am really proud to have also received the Rotary Award."

Abbie performed a stunning routine, and we are incredibly proud of her effort and successes. We can't wait to see what Abbie goes on to do next!

These are just two of our talented Year 8 cohort who have had their personal success this term, and we know more are going on all the time. We love to hear about what our students take part in outside of school and cannot wait to see what is to come from our wonderful students. Please get in touch if you've been involved in any events, clubs or activities so we can celebrate your achievements.
