A Fantastic Turnout for Our 2025 Open Evening

Our annual Open Evening on Thursday, 25th September 2025, was another huge success, with over 500 families joining us to explore life at Rivington & Blackrod High School. The school was filled with excitement as prospective students and their families toured our facilities and grounds, met our dedicated staff and experienced the warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes our school so special.
Visitors enjoyed guided tours led by our brilliant student ambassadors, who proudly showcased our different subject areas and shared their own experiences of school life at RBHS. Families also had the chance to take part in a range of interactive activities and see how our school values are brought to life every day.
Our Head of School talks in the Main Hall were especially well attended, offering families the opportunity to hear about our vision, curriculum and commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences for every student.
In addition to our evening event, we also held two Open Days at our Lower School site, giving families the opportunity to see our Year 7 site in action during the school day. Visitors were able to watch live lessons, meet the Year 7 team and gain a real sense of what learning and life at RBHS is like for our newest students. Both events were a huge success, providing a genuine insight into our school community and the opportunities we offer.
We received wonderful feedback from visitors, many commenting on the enthusiasm of our students, the warmth of our staff and the sense of community that could be felt throughout each event.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and to our staff and students for making these events such a success. It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase our school, celebrate our values and welcome the next generation of Rivington & Blackrod students.
