Outstanding Pastoral Care
We are proud of the supportive and ambitious environment within our Sixth Form. Students are treated with trust and responsibility, while always knowing that support is there when it is needed.
Our smaller class sizes mean that teachers know their students. Progress is carefully monitored and support is tailored to individual needs, ensuring that every student feels confident, challenged and valued.
Each student is guided by a dedicated form tutor who provides regular mentoring, academic guidance and advice on future pathways. Tutors work closely with subject teachers and families to ensure students feel supported both academically and personally.
We understand that Sixth Form can feel like a significant step up from secondary school. That is why we place strong emphasis on:
- Regular academic progress reviews
- Early intervention and personalised support
- Wellbeing guidance and access to specialist support where needed
- Clear communication with students and families
- Structured preparation for life beyond Sixth Form
At Rivington & Blackrod Sixth Form, we are proud of the strong relationships between staff and students. Our community is built on respect, encouragement and high expectations, creating an environment where young people feel safe to take on new challenges and grow in confidence.
