Celebrating Autism Awareness Week
Thursday, 3rd April 2025
This week, our school community came together to recognise Autism Awareness Week, engaging in activities that promoted understanding, inclusion, and support for individuals with autism.
Throughout the week, staff wore blue-ribbon badges, and our school was decorated with blue ribbons, serving as a visible reminder of our commitment to autism awareness. During Team Time, students participated in a “Spread Kindness” activity, encouraging acts of kindness across the school and reinforcing the importance of empathy and understanding.
Students also hosted a "Coffee and Cake" morning in the ASD Provision at upper school and the HUB at lower school, creating a welcoming space for conversation and connection while raising awareness within our school community. Each day, top tips for supporting students with ASD in the classroom were shared, helping staff feel more equipped and confident in creating inclusive learning environments.
On Wednesday, 2nd April, we lit our school blue to mark World Autism Awareness Day, symbolising our commitment to raising awareness and creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
It was a special way to end the half-term, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff for coming together to recognise Autism Awareness Week, promote understanding, and show support. Thank you to everyone who took part and contributed to making this such an important and thoughtful week.
