Huge success at our annual Year 5 & 6 Open Evening
On Thursday, 16th September 2021, we held our annual Open Evening for Year 5 and 6 students and their families. It was fantastic to see our staff and students welcoming so many families to our school, and we are overwhelmed by the positive comments and enthusiasm.
Throughout the evening, prospective students and their families had the opportunity to explore our school grounds and fantastic facilities and chat with teachers and students about the learning and life at Rivington and Blackrod High School. There were two Head Teacher talk's throughout the evening, and senior staff were available to answer any questions.
Our students, and the biggest advocates of our school, provided guided tours around the different faculty areas where visitors had the chance to find out more about some of our subjects, participate in a range of activities, and discover how we deliver our school values.
We also unveiled our newly-renovated Sixth Form, which served a range of food and drinks, displayed our Duke of Edinburgh Awards programme, and had colleagues from Bright Leaders UK.
On Friday, 17th September 2021, we invited parents to visit and participate in staff and student-led tours around our Lower School site. The day was a huge success, and our Year 7 ambassadors showed that they are already proud, confident members of our school community.
