Rivington & Blackrod High School Presents: Little Shop of Horrors 2025

Tuesday, 4th November 2025

This October, we held our annual school production, and this year’s show was Little Shop of Horrors, performed from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd October 2025.

After auditions back in the spring term, our talented students spent months rehearsing, acting, singing, dancing, playing in the band and mastering the art of puppetry. Their hard work, commitment and enthusiasm were clear to see throughout the performances. The cast and crew have been a fantastic group to work with and the production team have said they’ll really miss the buzz of rehearsals now that the show has come to an end.

Audiences were transported to Downtown Los Angeles, to the gritty streets of Skid Row, where we met Seymour, a ‘down on his luck’ flower shop assistant, whose discovery of a mysterious plant with a deadly appetite sets off a chain of hilarious and unexpected events. With its catchy rock ’n’ roll soundtrack, witty script, and a larger than life man-eating plant, Little Shop of Horrors offered plenty of laughter and surprises for everyone watching.

We were also delighted that the production received a glowing review from the National School Theatre Awards (NSTA), who described it as: “A brilliant and thoroughly enjoyable school production... a monstrous success all round!”

The NSTA praised the strong performances, choreography and technical creativity, highlighting the professionalism and teamwork that went into bringing the story to life.

Every part of the show, from the cast to the crew, was made possible by the hard work and dedication of our students and the staff who supported them.

Little Shop of Horrors 2025 was a wonderful celebration of creativity, collaboration and talent, a production everyone involved can be proud of. Well done to all involved!
