We would like to offer you a warm invitation to our annual open evening at our Upper School on Thursday, 19th September 2024 between 5pm and 8pm.

Throughout the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to explore our impressive facilities and school grounds and chat with our teachers and students about the learning and life at RBHS. There will be two Headteacher talks in the Main Hall at 5.30pm and 6.30pm and our Head of School will be available, together with senior staff, to answer any questions you may have.

Our students, and the biggest advocates of our school, will be providing guided tours around the different faculty areas where you’ll have the chance to find out more about some of our subjects, participate in a range of activities, and discover how we deliver our school values.

We hope you really enjoy visiting the school and feel welcomed and fully informed about what we can offer you at Rivington & Blackrod High School.

Open Days

We would also encourage parents to visit our Lower School on Tuesday 24th or Thursday 26th September between 9am and 1pm to meet our Year 7 team. Tours will be available throughout the day and MUST be booked in advance via our online booking form.

The online booking form for Open Day appointments will go live on our website on Friday, 20th September 2024.

Tours will take approximately 30 minutes. Appointments will be limited.

Why should I choose RBHS?

Situated in an environment of extensive natural beauty, the school has over 450 years of history, and in recent years, the school has undergone a significant transformation. We have considerably invested in renovating the buildings, corridors and classrooms; creating new spaces for students to learn and enjoy. More importantly, it has transformed what happens in the classroom, putting students’ learning and pastoral care at the heart of the school.

In addition to providing excellent exam results, there is a real focus on developing the whole child; ensuring that students leave with the skills needed to succeed in their careers and play an active role in their communities.

We offer an extensive extracurricular provision to encourage students to excel in arts and sports and opportunities to develop students’ leadership skills.
