Business & Enterprise
Studying Business Studies will enable students to gain an understanding of areas such as the nature of business activity, influences on business, business operations, finance, marketing and human resources, and how these key functional areas impact on business decision making.
Students will have the opportunity to use business terminology to identify and explain business activity and apply key business concepts to real-life examples. They will be able to develop problem solving and decision making skills relevant to business whilst investigating, analysing and evaluating business opportunities and issues. Students will be encouraged to develop their people, communication, planning and team-working skills. Students who take Business studies will also have the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular activities including:
- Run your own Business – Turn that theory into practice and have the chance to run your own business and compete with others in school with the aim of achieving the most profit
- Trip to New York – Visit the Business Capital of the World in person and see the key points of interest such as Times Square, Wall Street, Empire State building, Statue of Liberty and much more!
- Business trip – There will be the chance to visit an actual business so you can see how what you have learnt in the classroom is applied in reality
