Thursday, 15th August 2024

Students and teachers gathered at Rivington and Blackrod Sixth Form this morning to collect their A Level results and celebrate another year of academic excellence both on an individual and whole school level.

It was wonderful to see so many happy faces and outstanding personal achievements, including Rebecca, who achieved an incredible four A*s and has confirmed a place at the University of Leeds to study Natural Sciences. Joseph also excelled, achieving A*, A, A and has secured a place at Lancaster University to study Physics with Astrophysics.  Amber achieved three As and has secured a place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study History. These accomplishments highlight the hard work and dedication of all our Year 13 students. Josh performed exceptionally well in his BTEC, achieving D*, D*, D and will be heading to Italia Conti in September to study Musical Theatre.

Director of Sixth Form, Mrs J Stephens, said: "A massive congratulations to our students this year for their incredible achievements. Their dedication and hard work have truly paid off and we couldn't be prouder of their fantastic results.

It's been an extraordinary journey and we're thrilled that so many of our students will be moving on to their first-choice universities, starting professional training or beginning apprenticeships. They've made the most of every opportunity available to them and we wish them every success as they begin this exciting new chapter."

These results are a testament to the hard work, resilience and determination of our students and staff, as well as the unwavering support from parents and the broader community over the past two years. We couldn't be prouder of what we have achieved together.

We wish the Class of 2024 all the best in their future studies and look forward to seeing the remarkable things they will accomplish.
