About Rivington School direct

 Welcome to Rivington School Direct

Rivington School Direct is an alliance of schools in the Bolton area working together in conjunction with Manchester Metropolitan University to deliver Initial Teacher Training (ITT) to degree holders. The qualification gained is a secondary PGCE from Manchester Metropolitan University. Trainees are provided with teaching experiences in their chosen subject at two contrasting placement schools over the course of one academic year. Trainees will also spend time at University working with tutors and their subject groups on topics such as pedagogy, behaviour management and professional studies. We currently offer 22 different subjects across nine schools in Bolton. Subject Knowledge Enhancements

SKEs are fully funded courses which allow you to brush up on your subject knowledge either before or during your ITT course. They are also useful for trainees who wish to train to teach a subject that is different to their degree subject.
