Introducing Our New Parent App, MyChildAtSchool (MCAS)
All school communications in one place.
Please find below a detailed overview of updates and communication regarding the launch and implementation of the MyChildAtSchool app. Each update is dated and arranged with the latest update first.
Important Update - 13th May 2026 - Move from ParentPay for Dinner Money and Trip Payments to MCAS
Further to our earlier communication, we are writing to confirm that Rivington & Blackrod High School is moving our online payment system from ParentPay to MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) over May Half Term break.
The majority of our parents and carers have already registered to use the MCAS app to view attendance, behaviour and timetables. This change is designed to make school life simpler. You will no longer be able to use ParentPay. By moving our payments into MCAS, everything you need—from tracking progress to paying for school meals and trips—will be available within this single app.
Key Dates
Prior to Friday, 22nd May: We recommend where possible that you add additional funds onto your child’s dinner money account via ParentPay to ensure that they have funds in place for the first day back after half term in case you experience any issues with the MCAS payments.
4pm Friday 22nd May: The school will cease to use ParentPay. This is the final deadline for all ParentPay transactions.
From 4pm on Friday, 22nd May to 2pm on Friday, 29th May (During Half Term): Over May Half Term we will be moving any dinner money from your ParentPay account to your MCAS account. This will mean that any positive balances will still be available to your child on their return after half term. No online payments can be made during this window while balances are transferred.
2pm Friday 29th May: The online payment facility goes LIVE in your MCAS app.
Update - 1st May 2026 - New Features Launched
Thank you to all of our parents and carers who have already registered for MCAS. The vast majority of students now have at least one parent registered on the MCAS platform.
We are pleased to confirm that today we have launched two new features on the MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) App and Portal.
- Online Absence Reporting:
Student absence from school can now be reported directly from MCAS.
Simply click on the 'Attendance' section and select 'Report an Absence'
Please note - this method of reporting will become our only digital absence reporting method after May Half Term and we would encourage parents to start using this in the meantime where necessary.
- Exam Timetables:
Parents of students in Years 11, 12 and 13 can now view their child's exam timetable for the upcoming Formal External Examinations (GCSE / A Levels).
If you require any support with MCAS please contact us at: bromcomsupport@rbhs.co.uk
Future Features:
After the May Half Term the school will be rolling out further features including:
- Moving from ParentPay for Dinner Money and Trip Payments to MCAS - including payment via Apple and Google Pay on the MCAS App ** please note full details will be provided to parents in due course and no action is required at this time **
- The School Online Shop will be accessible directly in MCAS with payments via the App and Portal.
- All key messages will be sent via the MCAS inbox and the school will no longer send text message alerts to parents.
We hope that you are finding MCAS to be useful at this time. The school is committed to providing as much information to parents as possible to allow you to support your child in their education. We will continue to launch further features over the coming months.
